This scheme has been launched by the Karnataka state government. This scheme was started in the year 2013 by the then-existing government. Under this scheme, a free ration is given to all the people living below the poverty line in the state. Now that Congress has won the elections and is going to fulfill its promise when the government is formed. Under this scheme, every eligible beneficiary or family (who falls in the BPL category) will be given 10 kg of rice free every month. Along with this, 200 units of free electricity and Rs 2,000 will be given to all housewives every month under the Griha Laxmi Yojana by this government. Under the scheme, earlier the beneficiary used to get only 5 kg of rice, which has now been increased to 10 kg.

Karnataka Anna Bhagya Scheme Details

• This scheme was first launched in November 2013 to provide a 5 kg ration for every additional member.
• Under this scheme, rice will be purchased in the auction organized by the Food Corporation of India under the OMSS scheme of the Central Government.
• Under the scheme, ration card holders will get information through SMS about the quantity of ration items and the total amount given on the ration card.

Anna Bhagya Scheme in Karnataka Benefits

• Under this scheme, there has been an increase in the ration received by every BPL family under the public distribution system.
• Under this scheme, a single-member BPL family will get 10 kg of rice, a two-member family will get 20 kg of rice, and a family with more members will get 30 kg of rice.
• The ration distribution system has been computerized, under which a database of ration card holders will be prepared. And the Aadhar card of every beneficiary will be linked to the ration card.
• According to the scheme, ration material will be distributed at fair-price shops from the first of every month.
• Under the scheme, whoever detects any ineligible ration card holder will get a cash reward of Rs 400.
• Along with this, anyone giving information about black marketing will get 5% of the total ration value as reward.

Karnataka Anna Bhagya Scheme Eligibility(कर्नाटक अन्न भाग्य योजना पात्रता)

• The applicant must be a resident of Karnataka state only.
• The applicant should belong to the BPL family.
• Under the scheme, families like landless agricultural laborers, widowed women heads, and HIV-positive people without any fixed income will get benefits.
• Elderly people without any fixed income will also get benefits.
• The applicant must have BPL card or Anna Antodya card.

Karnataka Anna Bhagya Scheme ineligibility(कर्नाटक अन्न भाग्य योजना अपात्रता)

• Those families who are in any government job or are taking benefits from the government or other institutions cannot avail the benefit of this scheme.
• Those families who have 3 hectares of dry or irrigated land in the village or a permanent house with more than 1000 square feet of land in the city cannot avail the benefits of this scheme.
• Those families who own four-wheeler vehicles (except tractors, mexicabs, and taxis which run on their own for livelihood) will not get the benefit.
• Those families whose annual income is Rs 1.20 lakh or more will not get the benefit.

5 किलो चावल की जगह मिलेंगे 170 रूपए

Due to a shortage in stock, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has refused to provide more rice. So, the Congress government of Karnataka has fulfilled its promise and for an additional 5 kg of rice, Rs 170 will be given every month at the rate of Rs 34/kg, which will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary.
